Abbottabad: As many as nine rockets were fired in Pakistani garrison town of Abbottabad with two hitting the boundary wall of country’s premier military academy the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), police said on Friday.
Police said the attack took place at 3 am. District Police Officer (DCO) Imtiaz Ali Shah told media that nine rockets were fired from a mountain near Ilyasi Mosque.
“We have found nine cases of rockets. A part of PMA boundary wall was damaged while other rockets landed in open areas of city, causing not damage ” the DCO said.
He said a search operation has been launched in the city to arrest the culprits.
A local said he heard a huge explosion at night, damaging windowpanes of his house. “I saw huge contingent of army and police surrounding the area, following the blast,” he added.
