Lahore: The Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Syed Munawar Hasan has appealed to the patriotic and honorable people of Lahore to join the JI sit-in in the city today in large numbers to demonstrate their love for the country.
In a statement here on Saturday, he expressed the hope that the Sunday rally would change the political course in the country. All those who wanted to get rid of the US slaves and corrupt and incompetent rulers would surely attend the rally tomorrow, he said.
The JI sit-in being held at Ferozepur Road, Ichrra Moe, would also be attended by women and children.
He said, the JI has launched a campaign against the US interference in the country, for the protection of the independence and sovereignty of the country, for eliminating corruption and return of the unlawful billions lying in the coffers of the corrupt people abroad. At the same time, he said, the JI wanted to eliminate politics of hypocrisy and hatred besides price spiral, unemployment and other socio-economic ills which have made the lives of the people a hell.
 The JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, in his addresses at corner meetings in different parts of the city, said that the JI rally tomorrow would be the biggest show of the patriotic Lahorites who would join to demonstrate their hared for the present rulers who had sold out he country’s sovereignty and honour for a few dollars.
Liaqat Baloch said that the people of the country wanted to throw away the US agents. He said that President Zardari was plotting a clash of institutions only to hide his misdeeds.
