Islamabad/Peshawar/Quetta/Karachi/New Dehli: The moon of Shawal has been sighted in several Pakistani and Indian cities and the Eid-ul- Fitr feast, marking the end of Holy Month of Ramazan, will be observed tomorrow (Wednesday) with religious fervour and zeal.
People in many cities of Pakistan including Quetta, Jehlum, Mandi Bahauddin, Parachinar, Sialkot, Okara, Gilgit, and Peshawar have sighted the Shawal moon.
Whereas reports of moon sighting in India were observed in New Delhi and Lucknow, and Imam of Shahi Mosque located in Indian capital New Dehli announced Shawal moon sighted.
In Pakistan, Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman, Chairman Central Ruet Hilal Committee said the new moon had been sighted and that Ramazan ended on Tuesday in Pakistan with the feast to follow the next day.
Chairman Central Ruwaet Hilal Committee Mufti Munib ur Rehman has officially announced Shawal moon sighting as Eid-ul-Fitr feast marking the end of the fasting month of Ramazan will be on Wednesday.
Mufti Munib ur Rehman said that due to heavy clouds in various parts of country but we received many reports of moon sighting from Mansehra, Tando Mohammad Khan, Rawalpindi, Wehari, Karachi and other parts of country.
Many parts of the country echoed with firing in the celebration of moon sighting.
Meanwhile, Zonal Ruwaet Hilal Committe for Quetta did not confirm the moon sighting initially due to the heavy cloud, however the zonal committee resumed the meeting after receiving reports of moon sighting in various parts of Balochistan including Quetta, Jewani, Pasni and Sibbi.
