Helmand: British troops have apprehended two Britons suspected of fighting for the Taliban in Afghanistan.
This was stated by the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Foreign Office confirmed the news saying that the two Britons had been arrested.
Arrests came after responsibility for security in the city of Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province was handed to Afghan forces by British troops yesterday. This move was preceded by the handover of the province of Bamiyan and the eastern town of Mehtar Lam to the afghan authorities by Nato.
But analysts say that maintaining stability in Lashkar Gah will be the sternest test yet for local forces.
