Kabul: Four NATO soldiers were killed in separate incidents in Afghanistan as foreign troops continue to experience some of their deadliest days in the war-ravaged country.
NATO said that a US-led soldier and an ISAF civilian were killed in an attack in the country’s volatile east.
The military coalition, in line with its usual policy, has withheld other details about the incident.
Earlier, Two American soldiers were also killed in a shooting by an Afghan guard.
Another US soldier was also wounded in the shooting incident.
Reports said the shooting took place in the Darah district of Panjshir province, some 62 miles from north of Kabul.
According to reports the shooter was a bodyguard working for the country’s second highest-ranking intelligence official, adding that the shooter stopped the convoy, engaged in an argument with Nato troops and opened fire. The guard was also gunned down another Nato soldier.
At least 294 US-led foreign forces have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year.
According to official figures, more than 2,575 US-led soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion of the country in 2001.
The security situation remained fragile in Afghanistan despite the presence of 150,000 US-led foreign forces in the country.
The increasing number of troop casualties in Afghanistan has caused widespread anger in the US and other NATO member states, undermining public support for the Afghan war.
