Karachi: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hassan has urged the government to fully implement the unanimous resolution of the parliament in letter and spirit.
Talking to newsmen at the residence of JUP leader Owais Noorani he said that the government should implement the recommendations of the parliament’s unanimous resolution including constitution of an independent commission and suspending Nato supplies.
He said that though the government has announced the commission, but the refusal of the former judge, Justice Fakhruddin G Ibrahim’s to sit in the commission and his objections over the commission, made it controversial. He said that a non-controversial and independent commission be formed to probe the May 2 US raid in Abbottabad.
The JI chief urged all the political and religious parties to get united for implementation of the unanimous resolution of the parliament.
He pointed out that there was a clear reference of October 2008 resolution of the parliament in the May 13 resolution.
He thanked the people of Karachi attending in large number the sit-in organized by JI against the US interference in the country.
