Karachi: Unidentified armed miscreants torched two trucks, one dumper and an auto rickshaw in Karachi, the financial hub of Karachi, in the wee hours of Friday.
According to The News Tribe correspondent in Karachi, the unrest has been continued in Karachi since last night. The miscreants opened indiscriminate firing on Super Highway which links Karachi to other parts of the country.
The miscreant also set tires on fire and blocked the highway. Two passersby were also injured in the firing.
Heavy contingent of police and Rangers rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area and started operation to trace the area.
Rescue teams also rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals. Sources said that one Rangers cop and two police personnel were also injured in the unrest but police officials did not confirmed the injuries.
Rescue teams along with security employees have started clearing the highway for transport.
According to police sources, a man involved in the unrest was arrested from the area. The arrested accused was stated to be the area leader of a political party.
