Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Keyani told Chairman US Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Mike Mullen that the relations between the CIA and ISI would be on equal basis or there will be no relations between both the spy agencies.
Sources said that Gen Mullen met Gen Keyani on Thursday late night. The sources said that Keyani raised concerns over US unilateral operation in Abbottabad that led to killing of Osama bin Laden earlier this month.
An official asking anonymity for sharing sensitive information, said that Pakistan’s military chief asked Mullen that there would be no unilateral action in the country instead the US would share intelligence information and any action would be form the home troops.
The sources said that Keyani also apprised US General about the resolution passed by the joint session of the parliament in the wake of operation. The parliament’s resolution called for a review in the bilateral relations with the US and immediate end to the drone attacks on the country’s northwest tribal belt near Afghan border.
