Peshawar: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has accepted responsibility for launching attack against the US officials in Peshawar Town area of the provincial capital that left one person killed and ten others injured.
Taliban spokesman said that they attacked the US officials and would continue to do so in the future.
The blast occurred near Peshawar University and according to Bomb Disposal Squad about 50 kg explosive material was used in the blast.
US Consulate while confirming the attack on its official said that two Consulate vehicles were targeted in the attack, however, it caused no casualties or injuries.
The News Tribe Correspondent told that the a large number of foreigners are residing in the area while offices of several NGOs area also located in the area. “Several foreigners were also attacked in the area in the recent past” he added.
