Islamabad: A unanimous resolution to condemn the Abottabad operation and review relationship with the US has been approved by the parliament of Pakistan during an in-camera session on late Friday night.
The resolution approved that an independent commission would be formed within seven days to investigate the issue. It was also approved in the resolution that Pakistan reserves rights to stop NATO supply and shot down drone aircrafts if drone attacks were not stopped.
The resolution said relationship with the US would be drafted on equality, and drone attacks would also be stopped.
The commission would be formed with the cooperation of the leader of the house (Prime Minister) and leader of the opposition (opposition leader). The commission would be comprised on civil society members, judges and lawyers but members from government and opposition would not be included in the commission.
It also said that to protect the security and integrity of Pakistan would be the top most for every individual. Protect the nuclear assets of the country would be mandatory for the institutions of Pakistan, it said.
Terrorism from the region would not be abolished without Pakistan’s support. Pakistan has sacrificed over 30,000 lives including 5,000 security personnel in war on terror. All institutions are standing behind military forces and parliament trusted on Pakistan’s military۔
The resolution also approved that free and fair foreign policy would be assured.
