Karachi: A province- wide shutter down strike is being observed in Sindh called by the nationalist parties against irregularities in the house counting phase of the census.
Trade centers, bazaars, CNG stations were closed in the several parts of the province, including Mirpurkhas, Tando Adam, Jacob Abad, Badin, Shikarpur and other areas.
Roads wore a deserted look after activists of the nationalist parties burnt tyres and hurled stones at passing by vehicle. People were experiencing difficulties due to unavailability of transport.
Numerous political and religious parties have supported the strike.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad police claimed to have arrested three suspects, involving in opening fire on a passenger bus during the strike.
