Kabul/Islamabad: Afghan Taliban have distanced themselves from attacks on schools, hospitals, madaris and other public places, saying that those attacking these places are agents of the enemy and Taliban have nothing to do with them.
Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman to the supreme leader of Afghan Taliban, Mullah Muhamamd Omar, in a statement said that the basic objective of Taliban struggle was freedom and development and Taliban even could not imagine of attacking schools and hospitals.
Reacting to a recent statement of Afghan President Hamid Karzai, wherein he had accused Taliban of attacking children, schools and hospitals, Mujahid said that Taliban considered education an ultimate way of success both in this world and the world hereinafter and they even could not imagine to attack educational institutions.
He said that the ultimate goal of Taliban struggle was freedom, development and construction, and they had nothing to do with those causing harms to national assets. Vehemently rejecting the Afghan President accusation, the Mullah Omer’s spokesman said that Natio and Afghan security forces had held several Taliban and even many of them with suicide vests, but they could not find any proof about Taliban’s involvement in attacks on schools and hospitals.
