New Delhi: The Indian Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
The apex court has issued the notice on CBI’s plea that charged 21 BJP leaders with criminal conspiracy to raze the Babri Masjid.
Babri Mosque was destroyed in 1992 when a political rally developed into a riot involving 150,000 people.
The rally was organized by the BJP, a radical Hindu political party.
At least 2000 Muslims were killed in various parts of India following the incident.
