Islamabad: Former Supreme Court chief justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has submitted his written apology in the Supreme Court, over taking oath under Provisional Constitutional Order(PCO) in military regime back in 2007.
Attorney General Pakistan Maulvi Anwarul Haq on Thursday submitted Dogar’s apolgy which was subsequently accepted by the Supreme Court bench hearing contempt of court petitions against superior court judges who took oath under PCO in former Military ruler Pervez Musharraf rule.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, accepting the apology remarked” it is good he (Dogar) realised his mistake”
Moreover,the SC concluded contempt of court proceedings against apex court sitting PCO judge Zahid Hussain as his lawyer SM Zafar submitted record of his retirement.
