Microsoft is developing a camera that creates an image of a room that moves as someone watching in a different location sways in front of a TV screen.
It is also testing light sensors in an experimental interactive dining table.
The software giant’s chief research officer, Craig Mundie, has given Rory Cellan-Jones a tour of its research institute near Seattle.
Microsoft launched Kinect for Xbox 360 last year in November which sold rapidly like a hot cake.
