An American news agency on Feb 23 had reported an ISI official as saying that the Pakistani spy agency feared there were hundreds of CIA contracted spies operating in Pakistan without the knowledge of either the Pakistan government or the intelligence agency.
It further reported that the ISI was ready to spilt with the CIA .
Earlier a British paper revealed that the ISI had asked CIA to unveil its under cover agents who were operating in Pakistan, after arrest of a US national Aaron DeHaven in Peshawar on Friday for overstaying illegally in Pakistan.
Dehaven has been sent to jail for 14-day judicial remand by a local court.
US embassy spokeswoman Courtney Beale said DeHaven was not a direct employee of the US government but added that details could not be confirmed until a consular officer had met him.
