Lahore: The Assistant Superintendent Kot Lakhpat Jail has been reportedly sacked from the post for providing facilities to the US national Raymond Davis,involved in killing two youths, media reports said on Wednesday.
Reports said that a prison constable has also been allegedly dismissed on the same charges.
A private TV channel has reported Naved Asghar posted as an assistant superintendent at the Kot Lakhpat Jail allegedly tried to provide Davis with a universal serial bus (USB) memory stick with the help of a constable, Hafiz Hussain, posted in a high security zone’s Information Technology (IT) department of the prison.
The USB stick was recovered from Hussain when he was trying to enter the high security cells, during investigations he disclosed that Asghar asked him to take the memory stick in high security cells.
However assistant superintendent told officials during investigations that he asked hussain to take print out of the data of the USB stick, but he took it to high security cells instead on his own will.
According to sources the senior officials had dismissed both accused and handed the investigation responsibilities to an intelligence organisation.
