Rawalpindi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday put up a transitive challan in an anti-terrorism court against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf, declaring him an accused in Benazir Bhutto assassination case.
Two accused former police officers Saud Aziz and Khurram Shahzad were produced before the court where the FIA produced transitive challan against Pervez Musharraf and the two former police officials.
Musharraf has been declared absconder in the challan while the Prosecutor General FIA Zulfiqar Chaudhry has said that the former president would be declared proclaimed offender if he would not appear before the investigation team.
The court questioned why Musharraf has been declared absconder. The prosecutor contended that the Musharraf had refused to appear before the investigation team probing the BB murder case.
He claimed that the two accused Saud Aziz and Khurram Shahzad were working on the behest of former president.
The FIA added the name of former president Pervez Musharraf to the list of accused in the Benazir Bhutto murder case after a statement given by former CPO Saud Aziz.
Aziz claimed that the order to change Benazir’s security incharge had been given by Musharraf. Aziz also stated that the scene of the assassination was immediately washed on Musharraf’s orders
The FIA prosecutor contended that the agency had obtained preliminary   forensic record of mobile phones of late Benazir Bhutto, which she used on the day of assassination, and had found some crucial contacts in connection with the case.
He contended that no phone call was made by her husband Asif Ali Zardari or any other person on BB’s mobile phone till 3.00 pm on 27 December 2007.
Later the court rejected the bail pleas of Saud Aziz and Khurram Shahzad and adjourned the hearing.
