Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gialni has said that government has no plans to amend blasphemy law.Speaking in the National Assembly on Wednesday he said that no committee was formed to amend the blasphemy law and no bill was moved in the house by the government in this regard.
He said that Sherry Rehman’s bill to amend the law was an individual act and the government has nothing to do with it. “Government passes unanimous bills then how come it would pass the bill its own” The prime minister added.
He said that if the minorities have objection over any law the house could discuss the issue.
Referring to Raymond Davis, who killed two people in Lahore, Gilani said that no one should worry about the case as it was subjudice and the government would abide the court’s decision. “let the court decide the case” he added.
The premier claimed that government has no pressure regarding Raymond Davis issue.
