Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency(FIA) on Wednesday issued summons to Moonis Elahi, a son of former Punjab chief minister Pervez Elahi, and asked to appear before the FIA on Thursday.
The FIA Additional Director Zafar Qureshi told media that he has summoned Moonis Elahi to the agency’s Lahore headquarters for investigation into the National Insurance Corporation Limited(NICL) corruption scandal.
Zafar Qureshi said that he had directed the FIA Karachi to ensure arrest of Ameen Qasim Dada, a key accused of NICL scam.
It may be mentioned here that another accused int the NICL scandal Muhammad Maalik has told the FIA that Rs 222 million was transferred into the Moonis Elahi’s bank account .
Meanwhile, sources in the Pakistan Muslim League -Q (PML-Q) told The News Tribe that Moonis Elahi had been abroad for several days and yet not returned to the country.
Moreover. The FIA has sought record after receiving information that Moonis has gone abroad.
Sources said that the FIA would seek arrest warrants of Moonis Elahi in the next hearing of the NICL case.
