MIRANSHAH: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said on Sunday that TTP has nothing to do with the ongoing fighting between the two rival groups in Waziristan.
“Fighting is the matter of only two groups. It has nothing to do with the TTP. Media should stop its negative propaganda immediately,” TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said.
In a statement issued from undisclosed location he said that a section of the media has launched a propaganda campaign on the pretext of some simple bitterness among the Taliban groups and we would like to clarify that the ongoing fight between the two groups has nothing to do with the entire TTP.
However, he said some bitterness was created out of misgivings among some of the members, which was immediately resolved after intervention by the TTP central Shura.
He said that this matter was in no way linked with TTP-government talks and ceasefire.
Shahidullah Shahid said that all the segments of the TTP abide by the decision taken by central Shura on the order of Maulana Fazlluah.
The Taliban and Pakistani government are currently involved in peace talks. The Taliban officially observed a ceasefire from March 1 to April 10.
