Karachi: A delegation of Pakistani businessmen headed by President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Senator Haji Ghulam Al called on the Director of Tiag Proom export company and officials of Pakistan Russia Business Council.
A statement issued here said that they discussed transfer of modern technology to Pakistan Steel Mills, increase in annual production capacity and other related matters were discussed during the meeting. It was also agreed to open Display Center with the name of Pakistan House in Orient Petersburg Moscow.
The delegation included. Fazl-e-Elahi, Vice President FPCCI,. Abdul Rauf Tabbani, Chairman Pak-Russia Business Council, Shahid ur Rehman, Chairman, FPCCI Standing Committee on Mines and Minerals, Shahid ur Rehman, Ata ur Rehman, Abdul Bari Qureshi, Abdul Rehman Tabbani; Asif Saeed, Irshad Ahmed Swati, Qaiser, Tariq Amjad Khan and others.
The FPCCI president informed Rizichenko, Director Tiag company that FPCCI and the business community had offered the Prime Minister of Pakistan to run the Pakistan steel Mills under private sector, which Prime Minister of Pakistan wholeheartedly accepted, and asked for feasibility report of Pakistan Steel Mills to run in private sector in order to save the country from the loss of Rs100 billion and to improve economic stability as well as enhancement of annual production in order to fulfill the local demand of steel.
Director Tiag Proom Company said Pakistan steel Mills was a big project. He further stated that with the new machinery and modern technology, the production of Pakistan Steel Mills can be increased to 0.4 million tons annually. Pakistan steel mills would be profitable only in private sector.
He further stated that he had also talked to the government about the audit and report of mills. He added that it is his heartiest wish to provide latest technology to this project in order to make it profitable as it was constructed by his company.
Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, President FPCCI agreed to talk to Prime government for audit and the preparation of comprehensive reports, so that this project may be profitable and save the Mills from the loss of Rs. 100 billion. Later on, Chairman and members of Pak-Russia Business Council met the delegation and hosted a dinner in the honor of the delegation. On the occasion, FPCCI and Pak-Russia business council agreed to establish display center with the name Pakistan House in Moscow orient Petersburg, where Pakistani products will be displayed for marketing.
