LAHORE: In compliance with Lahore High Court (LHC) order, an advertisement has been published in newspaper on Friday summoning 60 politicians including Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and former President Asif Ali Zardari on June 20 in a case regarding foreign assets.
Other high profile names published in the advertisement include General (r) Pervez Musharraf, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Shujaat, Pakistan Awami Muslim League (AML) chairperson  Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar.
LHC has ordered all the mentioned politicians to appear before court on June 20, either in person or they can send a lawyer.
In last hearing of the case, Justice Khalid Mehmood Khan was told that the concerned parties had refused to receive notices. In response, Mehmood ordered to publish advertisements on behalf of LHC summoning those who refused to receive the court notice.
Mehmood said that if politicians bring back their $200 billion, kept in banks abroad, then Pakistan can easily pay off all the debts.
Barrister Javed Iqbal has filed the petition against these politicians for causing extreme national loss by keeping over $200 billion in foreign countries.
