KARACHI: Pakistanis have been restricted submit polio clearance certificates while travelling to other countries from June 1 in accordance to directives of World Health Organisation (WHO).
WHO released directives for imposition of travel restrictions for Pakistani citizens in order to stop virus transfer in other countries after emergence of several polio patients in Pakistan.
According to WHO directives, Pakistanis would not be allowed to leave the countries till submission polio clearance certificates.
Health Ministry of Sindh announced to deploy special teams comprising of doctors on airport’s immigration counters that would be opened 24 hours while issuance of polio travel certification will be administered from government hospitals and vaccination centers.
Provincial government of Punjab made announcement to run anti-polio campaign after WHO’s revelation about presence of polio virus in sewers located in Bandar Road and Saman Abad areas of the provincial capital Lahore.
