Karachi: The city government in Karachi, the seaport city of Pakistan, has imposed section 144 and banned to take bath in the sea owing to cyclone threats in Arabian Sea.
Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan has directed the district government to take measures for the safety of the citizens.
Governor Sindh directed that the safety measures should be ensured with public cooperation to avoid any untoward incident as forecast by Pakistan Meteorological Department.
He directed the authorities concerned to update residents of coastal and lower areas and fishermen about the situation. He also directed the district government’s disaster management and health department to remain alert.
At the other hand, the city government has banned bathing and swimming in the sea under Section 144 which would urgently be in effect.
