DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday has taken notice imposition of a controversial ban on local audience to support foreign teams in ongoing World Cup T20 event.
ICC officials have taken rapid notice and commenced further investigation in the matter of banishing national audience to support other teams except Bangladesh and even restriction on carrying their beloved team’s flags in its ground.
ICC spokesperson said that cricket fan cannot be stopped for being deprived of their rights to express loyalty for any team.
Restricting audience from supporting another team is completely a wrong move, the official added.
Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has introduced ultra-unique and controversial idea seemed to grab support forcefully for its national team as the local audience faced ban to support other teams, TheNewsTribe reported.
The board informed the ground security officials regarding the ban; moreover, requested the local citizens to support national team.
It should be mentioned that arch rival Pakistan would come face to face against the Bangladesh team in the ongoing international World Cup T20 on March 30 at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.
