Rome: An attempt to hijack a Paris-Rome flight has been failed and the hijacker has been arrested, reports said on Sunday.
The hijacker wanted to take the plane to Libya was overpowered by cabin crew during the flight and arrested when the plane arrived in Rome, Italian news reports said.
The man, from Kazakhstan, tried to hijack the Alitalia flight around 1930 GMT, but was overpowered by the cabin crew. The flight arrived in Rome’s Fiumicino airport at 2005 GMT and he was handed over to police, ANSA said, citing police sources.
