ISLAMABAD: “Peace and security are mandatory to ensure smooth general elections in the country.”
It is the responsibility of the government to ensure law and order to enable the election commission hold polls on the scheduled date, said CEC Fakhruddin G. Ibrahim, here on Thursday.
He was chairing a high level meeting to review the preparations on eve of general elections, reported a private news channel.
The CEC held the caretaker government responsible to ensure helpful environment for a citizen to cast their vote.
He furthered that law enforcement agencies must also play their due role to strengthen the election commission in its efforts.
