Lahore: Cricketer turned politician Imran Khan has been summoned by a local court on taking a rally out in Lahore, the Punjab’s capital city.
According to The News Tribe Urdu, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) had taken out a rally on April 22, at the start of election campaign. The PTI head, Imran Khan led the rally himself while the district authorities had imposed a ban on public gatherings in the area.
From Khan’s side, PTI Lahore president Aleem Khan appeared in the court appealing the District Session Judge to exempt Imran Khan from appearing due to his election engagements.
However, the judge put aside his request saying Khan could appear even on Sunday. On this Aleem Khan replied that his party head would appear before the court on April 30.
