Karachi: At least 20 people have been killed and several others injured in Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan during last 24 hours, undermining the security agencies of the city.
The incidents have raised question on the security agencies, who on Tuesday, claimed that they had arrested a suicide bomber from the city.
The latest incident was reported in Defence area of the city, where unidentified men shot dead Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader in Sindh, Mian Taimor and his father Mian Arbab.
The two of them were shot when they were shopping in Khayaban Jami Phase-7 area of Defence.
In other incident, unidentified men opened fire on a car in Saleem Centre area of North Karachi, killing Medical Superintendent of Sindh Government Hospital Dr Hassan Alam. Fear prevailed in the area after the killing giving attackers a chance to safely escape from the spot.
Moreover, another incident of firing on a car was reported near Nagan Chowrangi in North Nazimabad area of the city, killing CID Inspector Alamgir. Earlier, a person named Arif Rajar, who was accused in the murder of the grandson of Akber Bugti, Talai Bugti, was shot dead in 13-A area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
In another incident reported in Hassan Square area of the city, a person named Razi Ahmed Khan was shot dead while driving his car.
Firing was also reported in Baloch Colony and Manzoor Colony area of the city, killing one person and injuring three other.
Five bodies were also found from different parts of the city but instead of increased violence, the law enforcement authorities have failed to react instantly to the incidents.
