Karachi: The CNG suspension case has taken a new turn after the gas stations of Karachi announced to observe 48 hour shutdown from tomorrow in view of the load management plan.
The gas stations took this decision as 90 percent of them observed unannounced closure today (Tuesday) apparently against the low tariff of the utility.
Responding to this, Commissioner Karachi had warned the stations to resume operation until today. However, the announcement by CNG operators was made soon after the deadline was over.
The CNG association holds the stance that they are bearing 15 to 16 rupees loss on filling of every kilogram of gas. Consumers, on the other hand, are facing great difficulty to carry on with their daily chores due to the suspension.
Meanwhile, connections of some stations of Abottabad were disconnected on filling gas more than the allotted quota. Conversely, gas stations of Peshawar have reopened after a closure of two days.
