Lahore: In the past 10 years number of students to reach a professional university has increased from 2.2% to 7.2% whereas the number of students to get enrolled in colleges has exceeded 11.8% from 6.26%
According to a report released by an Urdu daily, from 2002-03 to 2011-12 the rate of females to get admission in a professional university has reached 7.9% whereas the enrollment rate of males is now 6.6%
According to a report in the past decade only 5.37% males got enrolled in various colleges whereas on the contrary 17.4% of them took admission in colleges in 2011-2012.In 2002-03 15 million students were enrolled in primary schools but only 0.331 million made it to professional universities just because a large number of students leave their education before getting into professional institutes of Pakistan.
The report also said that in the past decade 13.5 million students in Pakistan did not continue their studies. Amongst them 5.5 million are females and approximately 8 millions are males. 16.8 million People didn’t make it to high school of which 7.7 million are females whereas 9.1 million are males.
