Mingora: Some unidentified men shot dead two people including Local peace committee leader Tajan Gul in Swat, a district of Pakistan’s province Khyber Pakhtunkhua.
According to sources, Tajan Gul along with other peace committee member was targeted in Charbagh village of Swat.
It is to be mentioned here that Pakistan Army cleared the area from militants in 2009 and declared victory over Taliban militants led by Maulvi Fazlullah, who wanted to impose strict version of sharia over people.
Recent attack on 15-year old Pakistani peace activist Malala Yousafzai in Swat, which was later proudly claimed by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and killings of local peace committee activists, which were formed to fight beside Pakistan Army in throwing out militants from Swat, has raised fears that the militants are gaining support in the region.
