London: South Africa has acquired the top position in all three formats of International cricket, becoming the only team in the history of cricket to achieve the milestone.
The Proteas achieve the landmark after beating England by 80 runs in the 2nd ODI at the Rose Bowl stadium, Southampton, England.
Hashim Amla, who scored 150 runs, once again helped his team to pile up a reasonable target. Smith 52, De Villiers 28 and Plessis 22 also accompanied the South African run machine to set a target of 288 runs against England.
Swan was the most successful bowler for England, taking two wickets in the match while Finn and Bresnan shared one wicket each.
Except 45 runs from Bell and Samit Patel, the English batting line failed to cross 30’s.
All Proteas bowler contributed their share to bowl out the English team. Morkel, Parnell and Peterson shared one wicket each while Tsotobe and Duminy took one wicket each.
Earlier before the series, the English team won consecutive 10 matches under the captaincy of Alaister Cook.
