London: In a survey of cars between three- and 10-year old by What Car? and Warranty Direct, it is revealed that Japanese cars—Honda, Toyota and Lexus—are the most reliable used car brands in the UK.
Suzuki and Subaru, which are also Japanese carmakers, are at fourth and positions, respectively, BBC reported.
Three brands shared the sixth place viz. Hyundai (South Korea), Mazda (Japan) and Mitsubishi (Japan).
By contrast, Land Rover was the least reliable marque surveyed. Other luxury car brands, including Audi, Jaguar and Mercedes, were also among the 10 least reliable.
“They need to do better,” said What Car?’s editor in chief, Chas Hallett. Their poor reliability would be “surprising to many,” he said.
“Reliability is so important to motorists, especially when times are tough.”
