Karachi: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) old guards are major impediment to allowing new faces in the emerging political party, Urdu language newspaper reported on Wednesday.
According to the newspaper, the old leaders of the Imran Khan-led PTI prompted Marvi Memon to join Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz while many others are mulling to join the Nawaz Sharif’s party.
The paper said that the PTI group is led by prominent lawyer and senior leader of the party Hamid Khan.
According to the report, the group thinks that the new comers from mainstream political parties would be on forefront and would overshadow their presence in the party despite they have long tendered sacrifices for the cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan .
Imran Khan has long been responding to his critics that he could not stop joining of the old politicians but could ensure his supporters that all the new comers had been joining on PTI’s terms.
He says he would give party tickets on merit.
