Power Cuts Hit Karachi Instantly with Initial Rainfall

Karachi: As the intense heat in the city subsided, K-Electric cut off the power, with feeders tripping in various areas of Karachi as soon as the first raindrop fell.

According to media reports, shortly after a brief spell of rain in Karachi, around 400 feeders tripped in various areas, leading to power outages. Residents in North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Shadman, UP, Orangi, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gadap, and Gulshan-e-Maymar experienced power cuts.

Many areas lost electricity as soon as the rain began, including Gulshan-e-Maymar, Surjani, Taiser Town, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Razzaqabad, Gizri, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Complaints of power outages were also reported in Baldia, Sher Shah, Keamari, Maripur, Old City Area, Jacob Lines, and Bizerta Lines.

Additionally, residents in Punjab Colony, Malir, Khokhrapar, Model Colony, Kazimabad, and Kharadar faced power cuts. In the vicinity of North Nazimabad’s Block ‘K’ area, the electricity was gone for 9 hours from 3 pm to 12 pm.

Citizens expressed their frustration, stating that electricity bills are increasing every day, while the authorities talk about reducing load shedding instead of eliminating it. This indicates that the leaders are incompetent and have failed to provide necessary facilities to the public.

They demanded that the Chief Justice and Army Chief take notice of the load shedding and ensure that the relevant institutions provide a stable electricity supply, as they are charged fully for the service.
