Karachi: Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba has announced a solidarity march for Gaza on Saturday, June 29, at 4 PM, from Boat Basin, Clifton to the U.S. Consulate.
Nazim Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Karachi, Abish Siddiqui, announced the Gaza solidarity march towards the American Consulate, stating that ongoing bombings and Israeli atrocities in Gaza have resulted in the death of 38,000 Palestinians and wounded over 85,000.
Protests against Israeli genocide in Gaza and the complicity of the U.S. in it are ongoing in educational institutions worldwide, with over 2,300 students arrested for protesting in American universities alone.
Nazim Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Karachi mentioned that students in Karachi are also distressed by the situation and express solidarity with their oppressed Palestinian brothers and sisters. Since October 7, Jamiat has organized rallies in all universities and colleges across the city to show support for the people of Gaza. On June 29, students from all over the city will march towards the American Consulate.
Abish Siddiqui further stated that Pakistan’s government and defense institutions seem to be failing to support the people of Palestine. The situation demands a clear stance against Israel and its supporter, the USA, on the diplomatic front, but the Pakistani government appears to be failing in openly condemning Israel.
He added that the city administration should refrain from using any underhanded tactics on June 29. “We are coming for a peaceful protest; if the path is blocked or obstacles are placed, the administration will be responsible for the situation”, he stated.
