Heavy Rains and Floods in Afghanistan Leave 7 Dead, 10 Missing

Bamyan: Recent heavy rains and floods in Afghanistan’s central province of Bamyan have resulted in the deaths of 7 people and left 10 missing.

According to media reports, provincial government spokesman Abdul Saboor Sighani stated that some areas of Yakawlang district were severely affected by heavy rains and flash floods. Efforts are underway to retrieve the bodies of those who perished and rescue any survivors from the debris.

The spokesperson also mentioned that the floods have caused damage to dozens of houses and agricultural lands. In the northern province of Badakhshan’s Yamgan district, sudden flooding has destroyed 40 houses and over 300 acres of crops.
