Washington: The suicide rate among youth up to 19 years old in America has reached a dangerous level.
According to international news agencies, the results of a recent survey have revealed that during the past 20 years, approximately 47,000 individuals aged between 10 and 19 years in America have ended their lives by their own hands, with suicide rates increasing rapidly every year.
According to a report published by JAMA Network Open, there has been an extraordinary increase in suicide incidents among both boys and girls in America. American experts say that the trend of suicide in the young population has been observed in all regions of America.
The survey indicates that concerning race, gender, and method of suicide, concerning trends have emerged. For instance, there has been an annual increase of 2.7 percent in deaths among young boys due to drug-related causes, while among girls, this rate has been recorded at 4.5 percent annually.
Similarly, there has been an annual increase of 5.3 percent in suicides among boys using firearms, with a continued rapid increase. In girls, there has been an annual increase of 7.8 percent in suicides using firearms.
