Saudi Cabinet Approves Intelligence Cooperation with Pakistan

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia and Pakistan will collaborate to combat terrorism-related crimes. In a session chaired by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi cabinet approved intelligence cooperation with Pakistan.

The Saudi cabinet approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the Presidency of State Security and Pakistan’s Military Intelligence Service to combat terrorism-related crimes and funding associated with them, in collaboration with Pakistani agencies such as state security institutions and military intelligence services. Various other regional and international issues were also discussed in the session.

The Saudi cabinet also announced that the state will shoulder the expenses associated with the relocation and status change of displaced individuals from neighboring countries who are granted permission to reside in the Kingdom.

The Cabinet approved the decision to cover various fees, including residency, work permits, and service transfer costs for a duration of four years. Additionally, the Kingdom will bear fines incurred for violations of residency regulations by individuals and their accompanying family members.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, all individuals and their dependents found guilty of violating residential laws will also be compensated from the public treasury.

The meeting also reviewed the performance of government agencies in facilitating amenities for Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan.

Saudi Crown Prince briefed the cabinet members on the message from the Prime Minister of Ethiopia regarding enhancing Saudi-African relations.

The members of the Saudi cabinet also discussed the Gulf Cooperation Council’s vision for regional security, aimed at ensuring security and stability in the region, the well-being of nations and their people, and global peace and security.

The Saudi cabinet meeting also assessed governmental efforts to create employment opportunities. Currently, the unemployment rate among Saudi youth stands at 7.7%, the lowest in the country’s history.

Furthermore, the Cabinet granted approval for a memorandum of understanding between the Saline Water Conversion Corporation and South Korea’s Korea Maritime and Ocean University.
