American Muslim Leaders Boycott White House Iftar Dinner Over Support for Israel

Washington: American Muslim leaders have boycotted the White House Iftar dinner in protest against the open support for the Zionist state of Israel that has killed around 33,000 Palestinians in Gaza.

According to media reports, American Muslim leaders, protesting against the policies of President Joe Biden, who openly supports and cooperates with the war criminal Israel, decided to boycott the traditional Iftar dinner hosted by the White House.

The event, traditionally a gathering of Muslim leaders, government officials, and national security leaders, was notably scaled down this year due to widespread discontent within the Muslim community over Biden’s policies regarding Israel’s actions in Gaza and the Iftar dinner encountered resistance as Muslim groups staged a boycott and organized counter-protests outside the White House.

Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) and American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) will participate in the protest Iftar held outside the White House.

It should be noted that Muslim organizations in America are urging for a change in White House policies against Israel’s ongoing terrorism in Gaza, while President Joe Biden continues to assist in the ethnic cleansing and genocide of Palestinians through his pro-Israel policies.

It is worth noting that since October 7, relentless Israeli attacks on Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 32,916 Palestinians and wounded 75,494 others. According to a UN-World Bank report, the infrastructure damage in Gaza amounts to $18.5 billion during the first four months of Israel’s devastating assault.

UN Secretary-General Guterres expressed outrage over the killing of seven World Central Kitchen staff members, bringing the total number of aid workers killed in Gaza to 196, including over 175 UN personnel. He called the situation “unconscionable.” The deliberate targeting of charity staff delivering food to thousands of Gazans facing famine has sparked widespread condemnation globally.

It remains evident that the genocidal attacks of the Israeli forces on Gaza continue. The UN reports that 85% of Gaza’s population has been displaced internally, with critical shortages of food, water, and medicine, while 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.

Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice, with an interim ruling in January ordering Tel Aviv to cease genocidal acts and ensure the provision of humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza, which so far has gone unheeded as relentless Israeli attacks on Gaza claim the lives of dozens and hundreds of Palestinians daily.
