Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a stark warning to the West, cautioning that a direct confrontation between Russia and the U.S.-led NATO alliance would dangerously escalate the global geopolitical landscape to the brink of World War III.
Following his major victory in the Elections in Russia, in a press briefing, Putin emphasized the grave repercussions of such a conflict, stating, that any direct confrontation between Russia and NATO will be a step towards a full blown World War III. “I believe very few people have any interest in such a scenario,” he said. Despite this ominous warning, Putin underscored that few desired such a catastrophic scenario.
Amid mounting concerns over military escalations, Putin highlighted the presence of NATO personnel in Ukraine, revealing that Russian forces had intercepted communications in English and French on the battlefield. Putin condemned the presence of foreign troops, noting the significant human cost of the conflict.
Addressing criticism of Russia’s recent elections, Putin dismissed Western claims of electoral irregularities, lambasting the state of democracy in the United States. Putin condemned what he described as a “catastrophic” situation in the U.S., highlighting the lack of democratic principles in American governance.
