Madina Munawwara: During the month of Ramadan, a free bus service has been initiated for visitors to Masjid Nabawi in Saudi Arabia.
As Ramadan approaches, the Madinah Region Development Authority has launched the “Madinah” bus project, featuring shuttle services and public transport facilities, to accommodate the influx of pilgrims during the holy month.
Preparations for the project, aimed at enhancing transportation services for visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque and other key destinations in Madinah, have been finalized and are set to commence during Ramadan 1445 AH.
Authorities state that for pilgrims and visitors, approximately 200 modern buses will be deployed to facilitate transportation to prominent sites such as the Prophet’s Mosque, the Quba Mosque, and various stations across Madinah.
To streamline movement to the Prophet’s Mosque, seven designated routes have been established, connecting key locations including Durat Al-Madinah, Saeed Al-Shuhda, the Islamic University, Al-Khaldiha District, and Bani Harithah.
This service will continue from 3 pm until 1 hour after Taraweeh prayers, the shuttle services will ensure convenient travel for worshippers during Ramadan. Additionally, during the last 10 days of the holy month, shuttle timings will be extended until 30 minutes after the Qiyam prayer.
It has been further informed that the free bus service has been initiated for the convenience of visitors to Masjid Nabawi during Ramadan, in collaboration with the General Authority of the Two Holy Mosques, the Medina Region Development Authority, and other relevant agencies.
