Joe Biden says Saudi Arabia Ready to Recognize Israel

Washington: President Biden of the United States has stated that Saudi Arabia is ready to recognize Israel. During an interview, Biden mentioned that he is also in contact with six other Arab countries, including Qatar.

During the interview, Joe Biden revealed that Saudi Arabia and many other Arab countries are ready to recognize Israel. Shedding light on the possibility of a temporary ceasefire in Gaza, Joe Biden stated that Israel has agreed to abstain from engaging in activities in Gaza during Ramadan.

“Look, first of all, there are the hostages being held must be released. Ramadan’s coming up and there’s been an agreement by the Israelis that they would not engage in activities during Ramadan as well, in order to give us time to get all the hostages out,” said Biden.

Joe Biden stated that the ceasefire in Gaza will provide us with an opportunity to move forward in that direction. He further revealed that many Arab countries are ready to recognize Israel. “… a lot of Arab countries are prepared to move in. For example, Saudi Arabia is ready to recognize Israel. Jordan is – Egypt.  There are six other states. I have been working with Qatar.” he revealed.

The US President emphasized that maintaining Israel’s existence requires a two-state solution. “The only way Israel ultimately survives, and I make no bones about it”. If Israel fails to ensure the protection of Palestinians’ lives in Rafah, it will lose international support, he said. However, he mentioned that the two-state solution would not be immediate but would be part of a long process.

Furthermore, the U.S. president reasserted his support for Israel and claimed to be a zionist. “. I get criticized for having said a long time ago, you need not be a Jew to be a Zionist. I’m a Zionist. Were there no Israel, there’s not a Jew in the world who’d be safe.”, he said.

It is worth noting the relentless Israeli bombardment has resulted in the deaths of at least 29,878 Palestinians in Gaza, most children and women. The toll includes 96 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, with over 70,215 individuals wounded since the conflict erupted on October 7.
