According to news agencies, NEPRA has issued a regular notification approving an increase of Rs. 7.5 per unit in electricity prices.

The increase in electricity prices has been made in the context of the monthly fuel adjustment for January, which will impose an additional burden of Rs. 66 billion on electricity consumers.

Clarification has been provided in the NEPRA notification that this price increase will not apply to Lifeline and K-Electric consumers, however, those consumers affected by it will have to make additional payments in their March bills.
