Gaza Death Toll Surpasses 29,500 Amidst Relentless Israeli Attacks

Gaza: Amidst ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, the death toll has surged past 29,500, with over 69,600 Palestinians injured since October 7.

In the last 24 hours alone, at least 104 Palestinians were killed and 160 others injured. Israel committed 10 massacres against families in Gaza in the past 24 hours.

Amidst this crisis, Gaza’s Health Ministry has reported that Israeli forces have re-entered the besieged Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, briefly withdrawing before amid deteriorating conditions at the medical facility.

Concurrently, the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has sounded the alarm, stating it has reached a “breaking point” due to frozen funds from Western donors, exacerbating the “unprecedented humanitarian needs in Gaza.”

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported the death of one of its staff members in Rafah, where Israeli raids targeted the house where he and his family sought shelter. Rafah, once designated as a “safe zone” for Palestinain civilian, is now home to over one million internally displaced Palestinians and has come under relentless Israeli attacks.

An annual UN report has underscored “gross human rights violations” by all parties in Israel and the Palestinian territories, emphasizing the urgent need for accountability and justice to foster peace. UN human rights chief Volker Turk stressed the necessity of addressing entrenched impunity, calling for accountability for violations witnessed during 56 years of occupation and 16 years of blockade in Gaza.

Despite a provisional ruling from the International Court of Justice telling Israel to prevent genocide, Israel continues its offensive, exacerbating the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Since October 7, Israeli attacks on Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 29,514 Palestinians and injuries to 69,616 others, with most casualties being women and children.

Israel Planning to Build 3,300 Settlements in Occupied West Bank:

The Israeli authorities are planning to approve the construction of more than 3,300 settlement units in the occupied West Bank, including 2,350 in Maaleh Adumim, around 300 in Kedar, and 700 in Efrat.

If the project is approved, it would be the largest settlement decision since the Israeli war on Gaza on Oct. 7. The current Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, strongly supports settlement expansion in Palestinian territories, despite international condemnation.

These settlements are considered illegal under international law, and tensions have escalated since Israel’s military offensive in Gaza, resulting in numerous Palestinian casualties.

Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza, with a recent ruling urging Tel Aviv to halt genocidal acts and ensure humanitarian assistance to civilians, but on ground the provincial ruling has been completely ineffective in stopping relentless Israeli attacks that are killing hundreds of Palestinians daily.
