It is worth noting that on Friday January 26, International Court of Justice (ICJ) gave its interim ruling on South Africa’s genocide case against Israel. The ICJ ordered Israel to take preventive measures in its war and stop the genocide and demanded “immediate and effective” measures for the delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the ruling by the and said Israel would continue its war in Gaza. Israel’s Zionist Defence Minister Yoav Gallant who had termed Palestinians as “Human Animals” and had given openly called for genocidal actions against the residents in Gaza at the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza said,

“The International Court of Justice in The Hague went above and beyond, when it granted South Africa’s antisemitic request to discuss the claim of genocide in Gaza, and now refuses to reject the petition outright.”
Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel;s National Security Minister, mocking the ICJ ruling took to social media and posted “Hague shmague” – on the social media platform X.

A ex-adviser to Israel’s former President Shimon Peres called the ICJ a “kangaroo court”. He said that it is a “joke” that South Africa has even brought the case.

“Who cares? Literally who cares what the ICJ says?” Mitchell Barak, CEO of Israel-based Keevoon Global Research, told Al Jazeera.

“I’m not going to get concerned about it. At the end of the day, we have to defend our country. We have to get our hostages back. And it’s really not going to matter – it’s just not going to matter,” he said.

Meanwhile, Israel been accused that some staff members of United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) involvement in October 7 attacks. Following this, several Western countries suspended their funding to UNRWA including United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Finland and the Netherlands and Japan, while Ireland and Norway decided to continue funding.

It is important to note that from October 7 to the present, the number of Palestinians martyred in Israeli attacks has exceeded 26,453, including 11,000 children and 7,500 women, and around  8,000 Palestinians have been missing under the rubble since October 7, presumably dead. More than half of the victims of the barbaric Israeli attacks, both martyred and injured, are children and women. According to UNICEF,  more than 10 children a day lose one or both legs in Gaza due to Israeli attacks.

According to a report by Oxfam, Israel’s military is inflicting an average daily death toll of 250 Palestinians in Gaza, marking an unprecedented and deeply troubling escalation of hostilities. This staggering rate, surpasses any recent major conflict, including Syria, Sudan, Iraq, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Yemen.

As of January 20, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that over 85% (1.9 Million people) population has been displaced in various areas of Gaza while relentless Israeli bombardment  has destroyed over 70% of homes in Gaza.
