Gaza: Israeli Forces Intentionally Attack Ambulance, 4 Red Crescent Workers Martyred

Occupied Jerusalem: The Israeli Zionist occupation forces targeted an ambulance in their attack, resulting in the martyrdom of four Palestinian Red Crescent workers in central Gaza.

According to news agencies, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that an Israeli airstrike intentionally targeted an ambulance near Deir al-Balah, resulting in the martyrdom of 4 Red Crescent workers. All four workers were attacked while they were wearing the “Red Crescent emblem, which is supposed to be protected according to international law”.

“Four members of the Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance crews were martyred due to the targeting by the occupation [Israel] of an ambulance vehicle on Salah al-Din Street, at the entrance of Deir al-Balah,” said Red Crescent in a statement.

 

All 4 of them were part of the Red Crescent’s ambulance team, engaged in missions to transfer those injured among the Palestinian civilians, providing assistance alongside transporting those who lost their lives.

In addition, Israeli occupation forces have once again initiated intense shelling around Al-Aqsa Hospital, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 40 Palestinians and injuries to over 150 others.

It is noteworthy that since the beginning of Israeli aggression in Gaza on October 7, the Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of nearly 23,357, including around 10,000 children and 7,000 women, and 59,410 Palestinians have been injured severely, and more than 8,000 Palestinians have been missing. According to UNICEF,  more than 10 children a day lose one or both legs in Gaza due to Israeli attacks.

Among those martyred in Israeli bombings in Gaza, there are 610 members of medical staff and 112 journalists. Additionally, more than 40 personnel from the Civil Defense have also lost their lives.

According to media reports, within the past 24 hours, Israeli forces have martyred 200 Palestinians in more than 150 brutal operations.

Moreover, since October 7 Israel has detained 5,755 Palestinians including 190 women and 335 children.

Furthermore, 60-70% of infrastructure in Gaza has been either completely destroyed or damaged in Israeli attacks, and over 2 million people or 85% population of the Gaza Strip have been displaced out of its total population of 2.3 million. The UN’s Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths has said that “Gaza has simply become uninhabitable”

Since October 7, Israel has carried out more than 600 attacks on hospitals and medical infrastructure, killing 620 people within the healthcare facilities of whom 610  were in Gaza and 7 in the West Bank.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, at least 340 Palestinians killed by Israel including more than 84 children while 4,000 have been injured.
