Jakarta, Rabat: Earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.7 in Indonesia and 5.1 in Morocco were felt.
According to international news agencies, a seismic shock of 5.7 magnitude occurred in the western province of Banten in Indonesia on Wednesday morning at 7:53 local time. The epicenter of the earthquake was 77 kilometers south-west of the Sukabumi Regency and at a depth of 63 kilometers below the sea. Although the earthquake spread fear and panic among people, there have been no reports of casualties or financial losses.
On the other hand, in the Azilal region of Morocco, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 was felt. According to the statement issued by the Moroccan National Geological Institute, the earthquake occurred in the morning, and its intensity was recorded as 5.1. No loss of life or property damage occurred due to the earthquake, but people, fearing the aftershocks, came out of their homes.
